What is it?
A festive lighting trail through the Forbury Gardens and Abbey Ruins, illuminating the trees and structures within the Gardens as well as the walls and features within the Abbey Ruins, highlighting the beauty of these historic structures. The event was run for a month over December, providing Christmas activities for local people and visitors. The lighting trail also brought to life the history of Reading’s Huntley and Palmer heritage through an artistic impression of biscuits from raw materials to their final destinations all over the world.
Who is it for?
Everyone visiting, living or working in Reading.
What is the benefit?
The lighting trail highlighted the beauty of the Forbury Gardens, Reading Abbey Ruins and and our biscuit heritage to local residents and visitors to the town. As well as enhancing the public realm, the trail provided festive activity in Reading over the Christmas season.
