Reading's Economy & Destination Agency (REDA) is committed to preserving the privacy of visitors to this website (visit-reading.com). This Data Protection and Security Statement confirms our policy for the collection and use of information submitted to us.

REDA GDPR policy
Our company REDA is supported by the Reading Borough Council ICT platform, which is General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliant. Within that platform we keep our own electronic filing system. Our website has been made GDPR compliant by the web site hosting and management company Simpleview.

If you register to use the password protected portions of the site, or the newsletter sign up, we will ask you to provide us with certain data about yourself, which we will handle in accordance with the United Kingdom's Data Protection legislation. Business information
We store accommodation, venue and other business details (trade data) in our database to facilitate publishing them on this website. Our legal basis for this processing is that it is necessary for the purpose of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller. Business details are by their nature, already in the public domain and we are using them in a way the businesses would reasonably expect and could benefit from.
