Carnival of the World

What is it?
Reading BID worked with CultureMix to bring EKO the Sea Giant to Reading as part of the Carnival of the World celebrations in Summer 2022. EKO is a nationally renowned travelling theatre group putting on events across the country. The story was aimed at families and children and talked about the important of acceptance and friendship.

What is the benefit? 
As part of the show, EKO the Sea Giant walked down Cross Street, meeting and interacting with businesses along the way. The staff, owners and customers of the businesses could engage and have fun with the giant. Many members of the public also joined the procession to take part in the entertainment too.
