Drink Spiking Testing Kits

People are at the heart of a great night out, and Reading BID is committed to ensuring that everyone can enjoy the town’s nightlife safely and with confidence. As part of our ongoing efforts to support businesses and enhance public safety, we have distributed easy-to-use drink spiking test kits to all our pubs, clubs, and late-night venues, including the First Stop service based at Reading Safe Space.   

These kits are a vital tool for venue management and staff, enabling them to respond quickly and effectively if a customer suspects their drink has been tampered with. The tests work instantly with any liquid, providing immediate results. This allows venues to reassure individuals if no harmful substances are detected, ensuring they can continue enjoying their night without unnecessary worry. However, if a test returns a positive result, immediate action can be taken—whether that’s seeking medical attention, securing evidence, or initiating an investigation. 

By equipping venues with these kits, Reading BID is not only providing businesses with practical tools to handle incidents swiftly but also reinforcing the message that Reading is a town that takes safety seriously.
