Reading Lantern Parade

Lantern Parade events have been delivered by Reading BID on a yearly basis, since December 2022. A number of free lantern workshops take place in the town in preparation to the event, giving everyone the chance to create a willow and paper lantern with professional artists. This brings families together, culminating in a beautiful finale parade in Reading town centre to celebrate. 

These fantastic events are partnered with Beautiful Creatures Theatre, Jelly, and AV Events, and supported by Reading Borough Council, Reading Buses, 101 Outdoor Arts and the Broad Street Mall. 

Both the lantern making sessions and the parade are fantastic ways of bringing people in the Reading community together. The finale parade helps to drive footfall into the town centre as well as contributing to the wider Christmas events programme each year.
