Diwali Celebrations

Millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world and in Reading celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, to mark new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. Reading BID supports Kala The Arts, an arts in education charity, to bring Diwali Celebrations to Reading town centre.  

These parades include lanterns, dancers, drummers and music along Broad Street. They are not only great opportunities to increase footfall into the town and support local businesses, but an opportunity to bring residents together to celebrate Reading as a diverse and cultural town. By showcasing these performances along the high street, Reading BID is helping to create a vibrant town centre and engage more people in what Reading has to offer.
