The University of Reading has been at the forefront of UK higher education for nearly a century. Over the decades the University has become an innovator and pioneer, pushing academic boundaries and leading social change. In the latest QS World Rankings (2023), the University of Reading is ranked 28 in the UK and 229 worldwide.
The University is home to more than 23,000 students with staff and students from all over the world. The University has two campuses in Reading, as well as other centres at Henley-upon-Thames, Johannesberg (South Africa) and Iskandar (Malaysia).
A research-intensive university, 98% of the University’s research is rated as being of international standing (Research Excellence Framework, 2021). Research at the University of Reading aims to solve some of the biggest problems facing people today, based on four themes: agriculture, food and health; environment; heritage and creativity; and prosperity and resilience.
