The BID team are part of REDA, Reading's Economy & Destination Agency. We have dedicated BID staff who work to manage and deliver the two BID business plans, as well as providing a dedicated channel of support to all our BID levy payers, year-round.
BID Manager | Alexa Volker
Alexa manages Reading’s two Business Improvement Districts to deliver a safer, cleaner and more attractive town centre. Coupled with regular exciting events and marketing initiatives, the BID aims to attract more people and business into the town centre, driving footfall spend in our retail and hospitality businesses.

Head of Operations BID | Alice Rampling
Alice is Head of Operations for Reading’s two Business Improvement Districts (BIDs). Alice works on behalf of our town-centre businesses to ensure they feel Reading is a clean and safe place to be based. As part of the BID team, Alice leads operational delivery, engaging with businesses and delivering the BID Business Plan 2024-29.

Head of Operations BID (Maternity cover) | Jonnelle Phoenix Roach
Joining the team in November 2023 as Maternity Leave cover for Alice Rampling, Jonnelle has been the first point of contact for town-centre businesses as part of the BID's work to ensure they feel Reading is a clean and safe place to be based.

Commercial Executive | Carol Gardiner
Carol works with the BID team to manage the commercial and charity bookings in Reading town centre. She is responsible for managing stall holders, charities, live music and events throughout the year, helping to drive visitors and boost perceptions of Reading town centre.

BID Warden | Gary Nicholls
Our BID Business Wardens are SIA accredited and patrol the whole of the BID area, supporting businesses, staff and visitors. They work closely with our local Thames Valley Police colleagues in tackling anti-social behaviour. They assist visitors with wayfinding and also provide frontline response to a wide range of incidents, including first aid support. Gary joined us in October 2021 - not only is he a 1 stripe blue belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu, he is also a trained fire fighter.
BID Warden | James Eden
Our BID Business Wardens are SIA accredited and patrol the whole of the BID area, supporting businesses, staff and visitors. They work closely with our local Thames Valley Police colleagues in tackling anti-social behaviour. They assist visitors with wayfinding and also provide frontline response to a wide range of incidents, including first aid support. James joined us in March and enjoys going to the gym and weight training.
