REDA is a Community Interest Company and by its very nature is a not for profit that provides services and undertakes projects that benefit the local economy and residents.
Our Purpose is to shape a better Reading
Our Mission to boost business and enhance the visitor experience in a way that improves the quality of life for all those in the Reading region
Our Values are to be :
Passionate, Honest and Open, Supportive, Confident and Positive.
The Company delivers success through a programme of economic development activities based on:
- Influencing Policy
- Marketing, promotion and PR
- Co-ordination of stakeholders and skills for business
- Business Investment, support and intelligence
Among our services are activities that:
- Assist local people back to work or set up their own business though advice, training and information giving
- We support local small business through the Reading Business Network to grow their business and find more opportunities in the Reading area
- We support other not for profit CIC’s and Arts organisations that raise the profile of Reading eg Black and White Theatre, Rabble and Reading REP. Pride of Reading CIC.
- We also donate to local charities that bring benefits to people in the town centre for example those begging and without permanent homes eg LaunchPad
Staff
For our staff we encourage them to be involved in local charities and community initiatives and time off is available to do this
We encourage staff where-ever possible to use public transport to work and meetings.
CSR Accreditation
REDA’s ambition in 2024-25 is to secure CSR accreditation through a validating body.
