The Abbey Quarter Business Improvement District (BID) is an area covered by a member-funded and governed set of initiatives. The Abbey Quarter BID was first voted in after a successful ballot in February 2019 and balloted businesses endorsed the work of the BID by voting resoundingly in favour of a second Abbey Quarter BID in February 2024. Of those who voted, 95% voted in favour by number and 97% in favour by rateable value (RV). Alongside the long-standing Reading Central BID, the Abbey Quarter BID aims to generate extra investment which will be used for initiatives and services to make Reading’s Abbey Quarter District safer, more attractive and connected, for its businesses and workers.

REDA's BID team works with many partners including Reading Borough Council and the Abbey Quarter BID Committee (made up of 12 Abbey Quarter businesses and partners) to deliver the BID business plan.
