Vulnerability Training

What is it?
In May 2023 Reading BID delivered its first vulnerability session for staff who work in Reading’s night time economy.  The session included information on how to deal with traumatic wounds, including stabbings, as well as how to use a defibrillator, demonstrating a defib machine and the step by step process of its operation.  Reading’s Street Pastors lead a session on “Bystander Intervention” and the important actions those working in the night time economy could do to protect people in their venues and those outside.  Police Inspector James Tribe spoke about the great examples of good practice already displayed in the town centre and lead a discussion which enabled attendees to share their processes with others.

Night time economy businesses within the Reading BID area receive free training and advice locally, saving budget and resource plus offering networking and sharing opportunities.
