Wildflowering

A welcoming and attractive town centre encourages visitors, boosts footfall, and supports local businesses. To enhance Reading’s appearance, Reading BID partnered with Reading Borough Council’s Parks Team to transform neglected open spaces into vibrant wildflower areas. 

These colourful meadows not only brighten and add character to the town but also provide a crucial habitat for bees and butterflies, promoting biodiversity. A greener, more inviting environment makes Reading a more enjoyable place to visit, shop, and explore. 

The initiative is more than just a beautification project—it’s about creating a town that people want to explore, photograph, but most importantly, return to. By investing in projects like this, Reading BID continues to work towards a town centre that is not only economically strong but also visually appealing, environmentally friendly, and a pleasure to visit.
