Street Cleaning

Annually, our deep cleaning contractor steam cleans and jet washes the pedestrianised areas of the whole town centre overnight. The council’s street care team do a fantastic job of sweeping the streets, but these jet washes take cleaning a step further, penetrating the paving enough to lift the dirt and grime that accumulates from foot and vehicle traffic, gum and bird droppings.  

By jet washing and steam cleaning the pedestrianised areas, dirt is lifted off completely, leaving a gleaming pavement surface. This method lifts the grime naturally accumulated over time, seeking to set a high standard for Reading streets, making it not only a nicer place for everyone who uses our pavements but a town that everyone can be proud of.
