REDA chairs the Reading Tourism Group, a monthly meeting of the tourism and hospitality sector in Greater Reading. With an increasingly strong tourism product, great connectivity and a key location on the new Great West Way touring route, Reading is working hard to raise awareness of its leisure offer and to grow its share of the leisure and business tourism market.
The group, which includes accommodation providers, attractions, tour guides, the local authority and transport providers meets to:
- Facilitate joint-working and better communication within the tourism sector in Greater Reading, with a specific focus on leisure tourism
- Help co-ordinate a strong Reading tourism product, with a regular focus on the Great West Way as a key route to market
- Support the sector in developing tourism tools/infrastructure
- Share intelligence, best practice and provide a regular networking opportunity
