Reading BID have announced the launch of their new learning solution, in partnership with SEEDL.
SEEDL’s innovative learning hub will offer all employees within Reading town centre free, unlimited access to up to 200 live courses at any given time. The learning hub offers topics that help local employees learn new skills, support their employer’s performance, and ultimately help make Reading town centre a more successful place.
“We are delighted to launch Reading BID’s new learning platform, in partnership with SEEDL. With such a variety of businesses within the Reading Central and Abbey Quarter BIDs, this is a great way for us to support the learning needs of all our businesses, from retail to professional services,” said Alexa Volker, Reading BID Manager. “Town centre businesses and their employees can now choose from a range of subjects, from Retail Management and Customer Service, through to Microsoft Excel and Project Management. All courses are live and, once completed, employees can download a learning certificate, helping evidence their personal and professional development”.
Reading BID’s new learning courses are uniquely all live interactive webinars, as well as having the option to catch up later. This means town centre businesses have the option to learn on a flexible basis, choosing to access webinars from their home, office, or any of Reading’s many hospitality venues with internet.
Reading BID’s learning solution is among the first of its kind around the UK and is launched in partnership with SEEDL, a world pioneering ‘Virtual Live Learning Subscription Service’. Joanna Nash who is SEEDL’s Chief Learning Officer said, “SEEDL has grown rapidly since its launch and we’re really excited to do more to support town and city centre economies. Our partnership with Reading BID is really going to be game changing for businesses in Reading. SEEDL and Reading BID will help support the personal and professional development of town centre employees, plus tempt new employees to their businesses. With learning being such a key part of candidate attraction and retention, we’re delighted to help these local businesses have a competitive edge. We will also be running mental wellness offerings which is something so many businesses have been asking us to offer during our research exercise”.
Reading BID’s learning hub launches on 31 May 2024, for town centre businesses and their employees. Eligible businesses will receive sign up information directly from the Reading BID team.
