Green Park; a fast evolving neighbourhood
8th March 2023
With the opening of Green Park Station this spring, the fast-growing work and live location at Green Park will be linked into Reading in six minutes, with easy connections to/from London on GWR and the Elizabeth Line services.
So what does Green Park have to offer?
Connectivity
The brand-new Green Park station is on the Reading-Basingstoke line. GWR will provide a half hourly service into Reading for local residents, employees at Green Park business park and fans attending matches at Reading Football Club. The station is located 10-minute walk from the business park and new residential areas. It will also have a transport interchange at the front of the station with six bus stops and a taxi rank as well as plenty of cycle parking.
Living
Located on Longwater Avenue, Green Park Village is already established and is growing as a collection of beautiful new homes ranging from 1 bedroom apartments to 5 bedroom detached houses in a stunning lakeside setting. Created by St Edward, part of Berkeley Group, it is being designed as a high quality, design led and sustainable community with excellent transport and local facilities at its heart. The next phase of 461 1-2 bed apartments at Bankside Gardens is being marketed now for completion Q1-2024. The residential blocks are set with 22 acres of parkland and located next to Greek Park Train Station, which will offer direct links to Reading station in just 6 minutes. Bankside Gardens also offers excellent residents facilities including a co-working space, gym, cinema and concierge service.
With a village centre, new primary school (already open), new Tesco Express, sports facilities, independent living for the over 50's and a 60-acre lake setting with open green spaces, Green Park Village is also fantastically located for the many companies that are based a short walk away on Green Park Business Park, as well as the many facilities offered on the park, from gym to restaurants and retail.
Green Park Business Park
25 years old but still growing, Green Park is the work place of 9000 people working across more than 60 businesses on the park, ranging from Three to Thales, Cisco to Virgin Media. Green Park was established to create a community for the people working there and has excellent facilities including cafes, restaurants, a gym and 195 acres of green space as well as a busy social calendar with events ranging from street food festivals to a photography club and wellness walks. Remarkably for a business park, Green Park has been awarded a Biodiversity Benchmark from the Wildlife Trust.
Green Park has a community of businesses from start-ups to global players and has spaces on the market currently ranging from 600 sq ft to 119,000 sq ft.
