One Station Hill tops out
21st September 2023
The topping out ceremony of the first phase of the office developments at Station Hill took place on Level 15 of the giant One Station Hill on Monday 18 September.
One Station Hill will be the first office building completed at Station Hill, offering 275,000 sq ft of state-of-the-art office space that promises to redefine the traditional workplace. It sits alongside two acres of public realm opposite Reading Station and will be ready for occupancy by businesses by early 2024.
The owners of One Station Hill, Lincoln MGT, describe the development as “designed as a space for businesses to thrive, advancing from hi-tech materials, cutting edge design and open-plan working environments.”
Onsite amenities include pocket parks and break out spaces, a rooftop café and lounge, health studio and fitness facilities, shower and changing facilities, roof terraces, concierge services, car parking and cycle hub and cycle parking, intelligent building management, meeting rooms and an auditorium. The building has been designed to be a BREEAM target ‘Excellent’, the best possible environmental rating.
Nigel Horton-Baker, Chief Executive of REDA, said: “The development of One Station Hill is making a significant contribution to the future economic growth of Reading as we work towards the 2050 Vision for Reading as an innovative and high-tech city of the future.
“Lincoln MGT have brought almost 16 years of planning for the site to fruition. Reading is an office centre attractive to relocating companies and there is still great demand for high quality, environmentally high-spec office space. One Station Hill is designed to meet the highest green building standards and will help Reading go a long way to meeting the demand for post-COVID flexible working solutions.”
The ambition for Station Hill is to deliver an outstanding regeneration project that will create a new gateway for Reading. A mixed-use development, it will become a new district – fusing contemporary living, working, leisure and open community space. Phase One of residential apartments managed by Ebb & Flow is already open and One Station Hill and the associated new public spaces will link to the residential area creating a new access to Reading town centre.
