Carol manages the commercial and charity bookings in Reading town centre. Responsible for both the Market Place and Broad Street public realm areas, Carol maintains the management of stall holders, charities, live music and promotional marketing events throughout the year. Carol is also responsible for ensuring events using Reading’s public realm are sufficiently organised and managed, including the twice weekly street food markets which take place in Market Place on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Carol also supports the running of events that help to drive footfall into Reading town centre, and works closely with Reading Borough Council to ensure all licensing and regulations are maintained. Each year, Carol runs Eat Reading, a weekend-long street food festival running in Reading’s main shopping street, Broad Street.
Carol’s favourite thing about Reading:
I love how much there is to do in Reading, from drinks by the riverside and our huge choice of restaurants, to weekly street food markets, green gardens and the historical Abbey Ruins.
