Easter Trail | 5 - 21 April
Get ready for an egg-citing adventure this half-term as the Reading Easter Trail returns to the town centre! Find the 12 colourful Easter eggs and purple bunnies hidden in town centre shop windows between 5 - 21 April for a chance to win some amazing Easter treats. It's free and fun for the whole family!
Jelly Family Art Space | 5 & 19 April
Fancy some craft? Jelly's Family Art Space offers children aged 7 - 11 the opportunity to develop their creativity as well as their self-expression, confidence and problem-solving as they experiment and have fun with art. There are opportunities to explore printmaking, create carboard flowers and more!
Family Fun Day at Urban Fun | 5 April, 10am - 6pm
Urban Fun are bringing a day full of excitement, prizes, and treats, perfect for families, kids, and anyone looking for a fantastic time. There'll be free face painting and a free Cadbury's cream egg for every child!
Victorian Schoolroom Experience in the Gateway
Step back in time and experience a Victorian school lesson in our historic Abbey Gateway classroom! Meet a Victorian schoolteacher, practice the ‘3Rs,’ and discover what school life was like in the past. This immersive 45-minute session is perfect for adults and children over 5—just be sure to mind your manners!
This Easter, Reading Museum has plenty of family-friendly activities to enjoy. Take part in the Little Chick Easter Egg Hunt and win a chocolate prize or get creative with badge-making and edible chocolate bug crafts. Hands-on trails like the Monk Bear and Roman Paw Trails will add to the museum fun!
Easter Holiday Crafts at Reading Libraries
Children can enjoy a variety of fun craft sessions at our libraries for just £1 per child. Activities include making and decorating Easter decorations, creating Easter egg cards and wreaths, and designing Peek-a-Boo chicks. Families can also take part in an Easter egg treasure hunt or celebrate Jane Austen’s 250th anniversary with cross-stitch bookmarks and quill writing. Most events are drop-in, with no need to book!
Thames River Cruise Easter Trail | 7 - 18 April
Over the Easter school holiday, try out a Riverboat Easter Egg Trail along the Thames! Trips will be 45-minutes, setting off from Reading. Look for hidden eggs, each displaying a letter. Spot them all to spell a special word and earn a certificate to commemorate your adventure!
Experience the Flavours of France in Reading | 18 - 20 April
This Easter weekend, Broad Street will transform into a vibrant French market, bringing the sights, sounds and irresistible aromas of French food to Reading! Explore a fantastic lineup of vendors, from Caribbean-French fusion to sizzling Merguez frites, and the sweet perfection of Crêpes Fantastiques. Browse the boutique bags as you indulge in authentic French delicacies - artisan cheeses, freshly baked breads and delicate pastries. Treat yourself to a fresh cocktail or glass of fine French wine as you listen to the live music. Bon appétit!
National Trust Easter Adventures
Take part in Easter Adventures from 5 - 27 April in Reading's local National Trust parks. At Basildon Park, check out the miniature mansion and run from pillar to post. Choose colours from the colour wheel and puzzle the mansion floor plan back in order. At Grey's Court, Lady Brunner loved the theatre and the gardens she designed are full of dramatic touches. Step into her world and put on a show with music, games and activities on a performance theme.
Prices are £3.50 per trail which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and a chocolate egg!
