Reading has long been home to budding entrepreneurs and independent ventures, selling all sorts of local produce from jams to beer. Many of Reading’s wonderful restaurants and cafes sell local and homemade produce and local wines and beers can be found at a selection of Reading’s bars and pubs as well as our local breweries and vineyards.

Reading's Farmer's Market runs on the first and third Saturday morning of each month, selling everything from local veggies to cheese and honey, and street food markets run twice weekly (Wednesday and Friday lunchtimes) in Market Place. There are plenty of pop up foodie events and festivals running throughout the year in Reading, where stall-holders often sell local produce, too.
